“The Golden Desert” is a masterfully crafted abstract rendition of an aerial view of a desert shrouded in gold. It is said that every sand particle is a spec of 18k gold. Inhabitants of this so called desert roam these ever glistening dunes for a treasure. Yet the treasure ones seek is not of gold although the land is engulfed in it. Rather, travelers seek the treasure of water, thus depicting the irony of a golden desert representing a treasure that is non existent yet presents itself as so.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Marlee Richardson

Marlee Richardson is a Dallas based artist. Marlee's artistic career started officially with "The Golden Desert" piece, an abstract rendition of a golden desert masterfully crafted with plaster and clay. Marlee's main ambition as an artist is to inspire others through her artwork through delicate texturizations of various artistic materials such as clay, plaster, and acrylic. Marlee hopes to continue her invention of clay and canvas combinations while also hoping to explore other mediums of art on the way. Marlee's journey from novice to professional has only just begun.
